hello everyone!
so, there have been fewer updates because there has been fewer news to share....no news is good news right? well, its true! Steven is out of the ICU! his fever is staying regular! he is totally himself, no more weirdo Adivan hallucinogens! okay okay, so he is really almost out of the hospital, he could be home with in a week and a half or so. they still are dealing with a few complications that the doctors have to fix (because they broke it in the first place). its not really any thing big, they just have to retrain his body to separate liquid and air in his throat (or something like that). he will still be tube feeding for multiple weeks after this but instead of having to tube go through his nose, they are going to by-pass all of that and give him a fanny pack with a tube that goes strait into his intestines. the surgery is today...its a super easy procedure so no worries guys. its funny to see Steven and his perception of all of this. he doesn't really get what happened, or rather, the severity of what happened. he says, "i almost died you know" but i don't think he really gets it all.
any way guys, he is doing great! and he will be up out of here in no time!

Hallelujah!!! Oh Steven! Our prayers have been answered! That is just beyond good news! Love is powerful, love is transformational! Your fighting spirit and strong will have served you so well.
ReplyDeleteYou looked so good on Monday when I finally got to see you. It warmed my heart so much. We will keep praying for you until you are back 100%. I know that you are so eager to get out of that bed and get home where you belong, but give your body time to regain it's strength. Respect it's process so that it can complete the healing. You really are in the home stretch. You are a miracle!
We're here for you Steven when you get home. The love that sustained you will bring you full circle. You're almost there - can't wait to have you back, sweetheart!
Love,
Charlene
Great news...glad to hear...
ReplyDeleteOne possible issue...
The doctor will say: "Get plenty of rest"
Steven will hear: Ok I can work a half day
12 hours it is...lol
John
HEY CALLAN!! hi honey... you might not read this part to Steven: so - why doesn't he really get what happened, or the severity of what happened? is steven still not fully cognisant of his physical situation, is he a bit out of it? or is it confusing to all of us, doctors and everyone, as to just what happened?
ReplyDeletebut here's my message to Steven:
hey darlin'!
AH - more wonderful news. i am SO happy to log on today and read a good, heart-warming chapter in the novel!! enough of the dark, brooding stuff! :) haha.
Steven, hi!! thinking of you, loving you... still sending you Johrei from my heart in Switzerand to yours...
pascal and i are so happy to hear you are better and better every day. going home in a bit more than a week - that is SO, SO great!!
it's just so exciting to hear that you are improving so surely, we all want you back in our faces, telling us what we should be doing! :)
but - take it EEEAASY, don't push too hard now. your body has been going through some tremendous stress, and tremendous purification. please continue to have patience with yourself, and be understanding - and forgiving - of your body, and let it allllll heal. and it will. and i think you will be a better than ever before Steven.
we are so looking forward to seeing you in a few months... and now more than ever!
Love you big boy! thinking of you always...
your friend, beth
